Dog Walking

Its “walkies” time!

At 4paws your pets are treated as we would our own, we offer group walks or solo walks to suit your dogs preferences and needs.

All our walkers are DBS checked, insured, and have regular pet first aid training.

They take pictures and/or videos whilst on the walk so that you can see what your pups been up to. We pride ourselves in complete honesty, so will always inform you if we notice anything off about your dogs behaviour.

Our vehicles are all windowed vans so nice a light and airy, and dogs are transported in separate, secure, crates, or harness if they have an aversion to crating.

Once our info forms are filled in, your main walker will arrange to pop round for a free meet & greet before your first walk so that owners and dogs can get to know us and vice versa.

Repeat, ad-hoc, and short notice bookings welcome.

Group Walks

Our group walks are a very popular choice, cost effective as we have the dogs out of the house for longer total time, and the dogs get to enjoy social interactions, play and burn more energy. Allowing the dogs to practice interacting with appropriate playmates improves welfare, behaviour, k9 communication skills, and self awareness.

Cornwall is a beautiful county and we are blessed with many suitable places to allow the dogs off lead safely. Some of our favourite walk locations include the local dog friendly beaches, woods, moors, and clay trials, as well as our own private field and we also hire other secure parks in the area. Varying our walk locations keeps it fun and fresh for both our dogs and walkers! Sometimes, we also venture further afield if time and group allows, or meet up to form a larger group at our field for maximum fun!

The pace of the walk will be adjusted to suit the natural gait, age, and ability of the dogs in the group. If we need to keep your dog on lead, we can, or we can use a secure location and longline. Generally we try to do our first walk with a new client in one of these secure locations, this means if the dog isn’t enjoying group they can easily swap in and out.

Actual walk time is 45-60mins and we have the dogs for longer than this as we pick up and drop off their playmates. Monday – Fridays we have two set groups a day, ‘am’ around 10am-1pm and ‘pm’ around 1pm-4pm (+/- 1h). We may alter these to suit external factors such as weather, traffic conditions, walk location etc. Weekends we don’t always have a group walk available to join but feel free to ask and we may be able to start one for you, or provide a solo walk.

Mucky pups! We offer a quick towel dry once back at the van and can hose your floofy fidos at your house if you allow access. However, we aren’t qualified groomers and sadly don’t have time to pamper your pooch when we get back, so we advise you have somewhere we can leave the dogs if they are wet/muddy. Coats such as equifleece or similar can help keep the dogs clean on the walk and we can remove on return.

Solo Walks

Here at 4paws we understand that not all dogs are suitable for group walks, so we created solos.

Solo walks are just for your dog, or dogs if you have more than one in the household. This allows us to tailor our service to exactly what your pets require. We can feed, play, super slow walk, basic grooming, administer medications or a combination of these.

These walks are suitable for the old dawgs or young pups, those recovering from injury, dogs that are nervous of strangers, those that don’t get along with other dogs, or if you just want to ensure your dog gets one on one attention and maximum loving.

We offer a quick 15min, medium 30mins, or the full 60min time frames, which are started from when we arrive the house. Our slots run all day so you can select your ideal time slot and we will aim to be there within an hour flex. If we can’t make your preferred time slot we will offer you the closest available, please be aware that due to the nature of solos, there are limited slots so advance or repeat booking is recommended.

Eden Walks

Looking to visit the iconic Eden Project with your dog?

The first bit of great news is that the Eden Project is super dog friendly. Dogs are welcome in the extensive outside gardens and buildings, and features undercover parking for dog owners, so any time your dogs are in your vehicle they are in the shade. We meet you at Eden and walk your dog whilst you view the biomes where dogs aren’t permitted. This is due to the high temperature, rare plants, and tame birds in the biomes.

Depending on your dogs preferences, they can join a group walk – recommended for social dogs as these are the most cost effective, better chance of availability, and we have the dog for longer. We suggest joining our ‘am’ group, then if you need more time on the day we can usually add to ‘pm’ group provided we have space.

Or, if your dog wouldn’t enjoy group walk, then we can book you in for a 2 hour solo. We find this is just enough time to view the biomes for you, and most dogs can manage a 2h hike without too much trouble. However if you feel your pupstar isn’t up to this then we may be able to come up with another solution or recommend an alternative. Please do book this in advance, and before booking Eden tickets, as we need to ensure we can make a larger slot in our schedule for these special walks.

You have a great day, and your pets can too, you get back to happy walked pets with no stressing about leaving them in the car too long.
